La Tomatina

Every year on the last Wednesday in August Buñol hosts the now-famous Tamatina festival. The village is filled with ripe tomatoes and participants pelt one another sensless with them. Sound like your idea of fun?

Buñol can be reached easily from either Madrid or Valencia (Valencia is only 35km away). You can take the C3 line train from either Madrid or Valencia, or you can travel via bus, or drive along the A3 motorway.
